Q: How do I obtain a server for my Clan CMS?
A: This can be acquired by a hosting company of your choice, but please be advised they must meet these requirements in order for the Clan CMS system to install properly, or you can receive free hosting with one of our partner(s) Servelayer (RECOMMENDED)
Q: How do I install my Clan CMS?
A: After downloading the Clan CMS from our website, go into the cpanel provided to you by your hosting company, go into file manager, upload the .zip file that you got off our website, and extract it to "public_html". You will now go to www.yourdomainname.com/install where you must follow the installation guide provided to you by Xcel Gaming.
Q: I am having trouble with my Database Connection what do I do?
A: The Database Prefix should be set by default as "ClanCMS_", the Database Host should be "localhost", First make sure you have created a database, in your Cpanel under "Databases" click "MySQL® Database Wizard" you will now recieve a field to enter the name of your database, lets use "clancms" as the name, it will now ask you to create a database username and password, after you are done with that put in the database information in the "Xcel Gaming Installation Guide" for the database name and username you MUST use the prefix which will be the username given to you for your cpanel for example "nobletea_clancms" will go into that field "nobletea_" being the prefix. If you are having further trouble please contact your hosting provider.
Q: Now that I have my Clan CMS installed how do other people register?
A: It is pretty straight forward, have the users click the Register tab and fill out the required fields, they will be asked to verify their account through their email account.
Q: How do I manage the members that register?
A: In the Admin CP, click "Users" you can edit their user groups, activation, change their username, change their email, time zone, and IP Address.
Q: How do I make a new user group?
A: Click the "User Groups" tab in the AdminCP, you may add the name of the usergroup, the title of the user, if they are an administrator, clan member or banned, it will automatically set the user access level depending on the group.
Q: How do I change the Banner and Email?
A: You may create your own banner or use a premade one from Xcel Gaming with simple text with your clan name, this portion of the site can be found in the Admin CP, under the "Site Settings" tab.
Q: How do I create a News Article, or save one as a draft?
A: In the Admin CP simply click the "News Articles" tab, you have the option to view your published or drafts news articles, to add a new one click "Add News Article" fill out the forms, and you may save it as a draft to fix for later, or publish it and it will show on the front page.
Q: How do I add and manage a squad?
A: To add a squad go into the Admin CP, click on the "Squads" tab, Click on "Add Squad". Now you can type in the name of your squad and the priority of your choice. Now that you have your squad created, to manage it simply click the notepad icon under actions, you may add registered users to your team by entering their "player name" and their "role" then by clicking the "+" sign it will bring them into the squad, you may also drag them up or down to change priority.
Q: How do I create a match?
A: Click "Matches" in the Admin CP, you can add a match by clicking "Add Match" fill in the required fields and you’re done! After which, you may add the players kills, and deaths and it will generate a K/D ratio for the match.
Q: Now that I have won all these matches, where can I add my sponsors?
A: Click on "Sponsors" in the Admin CP, click "Add Sponsor" and fill in the fields, the image should be provided by your sponsor.
Q: What are "Site Stats"?
A: "Site Stats" will be on the sidebar of your AdminCP, it includes how many articles, matches, squads, sponsors, users, and user groups you have.
Q: What is an alert?
A: An alert will be on the top of your AdminCP you will have the option to resolve an alert instantly. Xcel Gaming has an automatic update system that will send alerts to update, and resolve problems.
